Amazon.com Fails

http://www.smartbitchestrashybooks.com/amazonrank/

On a side note, it doesn't affect me as they refused to take my card months ago, so it's not like I can support them.

Still...

AMAZONFAIL!

Nowadays, searching "homosexuality" brings up:

Strawberry Cheesecake, Dora the Doll

Childhood trauma?
Once upon a time, there was two child icons... who got on a slim fast diet.

For those who doesn't take a look at cartoons now and then, that's the makeover of Dora the Explorer and Strawberry Shortcake.

Both a cartoons aimed at younger girls, and both, coincidently, had baby fat because, you know, they're young girls. Their adventures also didn't call for long and silky hair or slender, long limbs.

Dora, for example, is supposed to be in the jungle with her animal friends, exploring and adventuring. What about a pink, flowy top says adventurer?

People might call me a hypocrite because I watch Winx Club, but, the difference is that Winx Club didn't take previously average to slightly chubby weight girls, practically and comfortably dressed, and turned them into thin waifs.

Oh, and there's rumours that makeover Dora will move to the city and discuss nail polish with her girlfriends. And no words about her monkey sidekick (probably kicked out).

WTH?! Abortion through the eyes of otaku males

Okay, so I browsed a "General World Stuff" section on an anime forum. There they had a thread saying something like "Abortion: Right or wrong?". Considering that most of the people I've seen posting on the forum seemed to like strong, independent women, even if they were like 90% male, I clicked it.

In it I found:
1. Most thinks that abortion is wrong, regardless of the reasons ("I don't want someone to abort my child!" not even calling it "our child").
2. One thought that their sister/cousin/whatever she was's abortion after rape was right, but no other abortion (even if it's rape) should occur.
3. Women should realise that pregnancy is a side-effect after sex. Ergo, if they don't want to be pregnant, they shouldn't have sex (but whyyyyy wont someone sleep with me?!).
4. Birth control never fails!!!!1!One!!!Dammit!
5. One is arguing for abortion, but is told to quit because their logic is worse than the anti-abortion logic.
6. Calling a foetus a "foetus" instead of a "baby" is evil, murderous and so on.
7. Courts should decide who gets to have abortions! And NO LATE ABORTIONS (like what would happen when a woman must wait for the court to decide).
8. Abortions hurt women! So we should take away this choice because they don't know any better!!!

And... My blood-pressure, which my doctors often have a hard time finding because it's usually so low, is now through the roof.

It contains classic examples of:

My Abortion is the ONLY Justified One!!

The fact that men should be able to have as much sex as they want, but women, when accidentally getting pregnant, should suck it up or not have any sex at all.

Impractical compromises that still takes away the choice of a woman (BUTBUT SHE CHOOSE TO GO TO COURT!!) but giving her choice to someone else.

Women are incubators for men's sons (rarely they'll mention daughters) once they're pregnant, and that women should have no say in it if the man tells her to stay pregnant.

Silencing the women's voice.

Women doesn't know what's best for them. Hence, they should let patriarchy decide.

The myth that birth control is 100% effective, that they wont break and that every woman is capable of taking hormonal chemicals regularly without any ill effects.

It's a baby at the moment the sperm enters the woman.

No one even thinks about this:

That women forced to bear their rapist's children are more likely to hate/hurt/kill themselves.

That women have careers that could end upon becoming pregnant.

That women can have a hard time getting daddy to step up on responsibility.

That women doesn't all like children.

That women could die, could become permanently paralysed, could enter depression, could develop many, many medical problems because of their pregnancy.

That women doesn't always have the financial means to take care of a child.

That there's already too many children in the adoption systems around the world and adding more is hardly nice towards the children.

You see, all pro-choice people want is CHOICE. No one wants forced abortions, all they want is for women to have the choice to carry the child or not.

But anti-abortion people likens it either to murder or that women takes abortion lightly and uses it instead of the pill/condom. (The more extreme ones say that the pill is a "chemical abortion" and should also be banned.)

It's a medical procedure, it costs money and isn't fun. I hardly believe that women will just skip to the doctor every time they've had sex.

Fucking hell. The stupidity is giving me a headache.

D:

http://community.feministing.com/2008/11/stephenie-meyers-twilight-and.html

Read the comments in the linked posts as well.

Basically, they tell people who has a problem with the Twilight books for Femenazis (It's just books! One even say Feminist Nazi).

Even when they point out that Edward is the classic case of abusive partner (he stalks Bella, isolates her from her friends, etc) and that Bella isn't a strong female character (despite, you know, only having one wish in the entire world: To be with a pretty vampire).

Ugh. That poured cold water on my Gundam 00-high.

The End of an Eternity [Spoilers]

Inuyasha is a series that started a looong time ago by then famous Rumiko Takahashi, of Ranma 1/2. Major points included:

Kagome is Kikyou's reincarnation.
Kikyou was Inuyasha's former lover.
Inuyasha kept mixing them up.
The Shikon no Tama disappears when the right(eous) wish is made.
Kagome is from the future, has a life, friends and family in the future.
Inuyasha is in the past and is just finding his friends and family.

And then, the ending happened (remember me complaining about Winx Club and Harry Potter? Well...).

Once again, the girl sacrifices everything for her hero... This is NOT a post-feminism world )
